Footsteps

Karen, a woman recently separated from her husband and trying to rebuild her life in a new apartment. The space is cold and impersonal, but she tells herself it’s a fresh start. At night, though, she begins to hear footsteps in the hallway—slow, deliberate, and stopping right outside her door.
