"The Ministry of Fear" is a gripping wartime thriller adapted for BBC Radio 4's Saturday Night Theatre , first broadcast on July 7, 1973.
Based on Graham Greene's 1943 novel, the radio play was dramatized by Geoffrey M. Matthews.Set in London during the Blitz, the story follows Arthur Rowe, a man recently released from a psychiatric institution after serving time for the mercy killing of his terminally ill wife. Seeking a return to normalcy, Rowe visits a charity fête where he wins a cake in a weight-guessing contest. However, this seemingly innocent event entangles him in a web of espionage and danger.
